Welcome to the Studio M blog, where wanderlust meets know-how. Here, I share curated travel tips, destination stories, and the kind of insider perks that turn a good trip into a fabulous one. Think of it as your bougie-but-savvy cheat sheet — equal parts inspiration and practical magic — designed to make every journey smoother, smarter, and a whole lot more stylish.
Luxury travel is not about perfection. It is about what happens next. This is a true honeymoon story from Thailand that illustrates the difference between research, automation, and having a real human advocating for you when something unexpected happens.
A mouse fell through the roof of a honeymoon villa in the middle of the night. This is a true story about luxury travel advisor advocacy, and what it looks like when someone is actively in your corner.
It is not a sentence anyone expects to write in a story about luxury travel, but it is exactly the moment that proves what luxury actually is. Not perfection. Not planning. And certainly not search results. Luxury is what happens next, and who steps in to handle it.
There is a lot of conversation right now about whether AI can plan a luxury trip. The honest answer is that planning has never been the hard part. Information is everywhere. Inspiration is easy.
Execution is where things change.
My clients were on their honeymoon in Thailand, staying at Six Senses Yao Noi. They had booked their stay using points, which meant I was not involved in the original reservation.
Just before their trip, I happened to meet one of the sales managers at the resort and a supplier event. Even though I did not book the stay, I reached out ahead of their arrival to let her know my clients were coming and to share a bit about their trip.
The hotel flagged them as VIPs and placed a welcome amenity in their villa with a personalized note from me.
This is an important detail. Advocacy does not start when something goes wrong. It starts before a client ever arrives.
On the second-to-last night of their honeymoon, in the middle of the night, a mouse chewed through the palapa roof of their villa and fell into the room.
To the hotel’s credit, they acted quickly. The mouse was removed immediately, and they offered to move the couple to another villa in the same category.
It was a reasonable response. It just was not enough for a honeymoon.
My clients reached out to me to ask if there was anything more that could be done.
I sent a note to my contacts at the resort.
Within a few hours, my clients were upgraded to the villa you see here. Several spa services were comped. One of their transfers was taken care of as well.

That did not happen because I searched harder. It happened because relationships matter. This is luxury travel advisor advocacy in practice, not theory.
Luxury travel runs on human connections. Knowing who to contact, how to frame a situation, and how to advocate calmly and effectively on behalf of your clients makes all the difference.
That kind of support does not come from a GPT.
(Thankfully, these clients have an excellent sense of humor. “Thank you, mouse, for the upgrade. Totally worth it.”
Tools like AI are incredibly helpful for inspiration and early-stage research. I use them myself. They are excellent for exploring destinations, understanding options, and sparking ideas.
But AI cannot call a hotel manager in the middle of the night.
It cannot advocate for a couple on their honeymoon.
And it cannot leverage relationships built over time.
When everything goes perfectly, most trips look good on paper. The difference shows up when something unexpected happens and someone needs to step in.
Many of my clients enjoy being involved in the planning process. They like researching destinations, sharing ideas, and dreaming about what is possible. That collaboration is welcome.
The most successful trips come from partnership.
Your taste. Your priorities. Your excitement.
Paired with my strategy, relationships, and advocacy.
From itineraries that flow to moments you cannot Google, the goal is always the same. The experience should feel effortless once it begins. At its core, luxury travel advisor advocacy is about protecting the experience when it matters most.
Luxury is not about outsourcing thinking.
It is about partnering with someone who knows how to turn ideas into outcomes and step in when it matters most.
That is the difference between planning a trip and designing an Art of Arrival.
If this is the level of care you want behind your travels, you can explore my services here.
AI can be helpful for inspiration and early research, but it cannot provide real-time advocacy, relationships, or execution when plans change. Luxury travel requires human judgment and connection.
A luxury travel advisor advocates on your behalf, leverages relationships with hotels and partners, and steps in when something goes wrong. This includes upgrades, problem-solving, and personalized service.
Yes. Even when a stay is booked with points, a travel advisor can add value through relationships, pre-arrival communication, and advocacy during your trip. In many cases, a service fee applies to ensure the same level of care and attention throughout the experience.
Luxury is not about avoiding problems. It is about how seamlessly and thoughtfully they are handled when they arise.
